Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has instructed the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation to develop a plan for the development of the Shakhtar football club from the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and to ensure the club’s participation in tournaments under the auspices of Russian Football. The instruction was given at the meeting dedicated to the new regions of Russia.
Also at the meeting, they informed about the progress of repairs at the Illichvets sports complex in Mariupol. By the end of summer, the installation of metal structures, roofing and other components is planned. Active work is underway to restore other sports facilities.
Last July, Donetsk football club Shakhtar participated in a football tournament between Republic football teams and Russian volunteers.
