Ruslan Siukaev, head of Vladikavkaz “Alania”, explained why the team did not consider the option of signing midfielder Alan Dzagoev. Siukaev quotes sports24.

“For various reasons we don’t think: There are players the coach wants to see and we are moving in that direction. In principle, 99% of the team is on staff. But anything can happen. The transfer window is still open and there is still time. We’d love to see you come back.”

The midfielder’s contract with Kazan club is valid until 30 June 2023. Dzagoev made 20 appearances in the First Division last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Dzagoev joined Rubin as a free agent in the summer of 2022 after leaving CSKA Moscow. The 32-year-old football player made 397 games for the Ordu club and recorded 77 goals and 93 assists. Dzagoev is a three-time champion of Russia, a four-time winner of the Russian Cup and Super Cup.
