Jagr talks about Russia’s impact on his career in the NHL

Czech striker Jaromir Jagr in an interview YouTube channel Spittin He compared his performance in the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Continental Hockey League (KHL).

“If I didn’t go to Russia, I don’t think I would have played another six years in the NHL. Even psychologically – in the NHL the training camps start on September 15, then you play, the playoffs, you just take two or three weeks off, then you go back to training.

There are fewer matches in Russia, breaks for national teams. I was able to see my family four times during the season. There is more training in Russia, so I was in much better shape and I gained new strength by going back to the NHL,” said Jagr.

Now Jagr continues his professional career in his homeland and plays for the hockey club Rytirzhi Kladno, one of the strongest league in the country.

Jagr played for Avangard Omsk from 2004 to 2005 and also from 2008 to 2011. After that, the Czech moved to the NHL. There he became the fourth top scorer in league history. Gordie Howe ahead of Wayne Gretzky and Russian Alexander Ovechkin.

Jagr is the champion of the 1998 Olympic Games and a two-time world champion as part of the Czech national team.
