2006 Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov practices on his leg prosthesis for more than an hour a day, doctors haven’t started making a figure skater’s hands prosthetics yet, says TASS.
“Roman is still in intensive care. He masters leg prosthesis, gets used to it. But not more than an hour a day is quite painful, it takes time to get used to it. The resource of the institution has not started prosthetic hands yet,” he said.
On June 26, a video was published on Kostomarov’s social networks, in which he first demonstrated his workouts with prosthetic legs.
It became known on January 10 that Roman Kostomarov was hospitalized. He was taken to the intensive care unit with pneumonia and was in critical condition due to the ventilator.
The athlete was then transferred to a hospital in Kommunarka, where he was affiliated with ECMO. The media wrote that Kostomarov underwent several operations to amputate his limbs due to the consequences of the disease.
