Former Scotland manager Craig Brown has died at the age of 82. This was reported by the coach’s family.
“Craig passed away today after a brief illness among close family members at Eyre University Hospital. In a statement, the family would like to express their deep appreciation for the extraordinary care and attention provided by the hospital staff, and the numerous messages of support and sympathy from friends and colleagues.
Brown was head coach of Scotland at the 1996 European Championship and 1998 World Cup. Throughout his professional football career, Brown played for Scottish clubs Dundee and Falkirk.
He was also head coach of Clyde, Preston North End, Motherwell and was also a mentor to the Scottish youth team.
