Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina said that after winning the first round of the tournament in Eastbourne, Ukrainian athletes did not shake hands with Russians and Belarusians.

“The position of the Ukrainian players is quite clear and we must accept and respect it. We have to do this and the fans must also accept it,” Kasatkina said.

The day before, Kasatkina defeated the Ukrainian athlete Angelina Kalinina, who is ranked 26th in the WTA ranking, in two sets. The match ended with a score of 6:3, 6:1.

The match lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes.
