American figure skaters held an unusual action to draw attention to the 500-day trial of Russian Kamila Valieva.

At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, the Americans took second place in the team tournament. The victory was won by the Russian team with Valieva in the composition, but the award ceremony did not take place, since a doping investigation was launched against the athlete.
