According to Dmitry Fedorov, director of working with Ryazan-VDV fans, the cause of death may be financial problems or difficulties in his personal life.

An employee of the club also said that he started a fundraiser to help family members of the deceased and promised to contact the actor’s mother in the near future. Ryazan-VDV fans and other caring people in less than a day managed to collect about 30 thousand rubles to support the Savin family.
“We named him the Good Giant. He was a healthy, absolutely cool and humble guy who was in love with hockey. It was always fun and interesting to talk to him. It turned out that he could not hold on neither in Vityaz nor in Ryazan, according to the season. The striker is healthy but young. Therefore, I gladly signed up for the youth team in the National Youth Hockey League (NMHL), this level is lower than in the MHL – and I drove all the playoffs there, ”the representative of Ryazan-VDV said in an interview with Match TV .
Ryazan investigators have already begun to investigate the death of a hockey player.
“The railway MSO of the city of Ryazan held a pre-investigation check on the death of a guest born in 2002 from the Ryazan region, procedural actions are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident,” Russia’s investigation agency said. The Investigative Committee of the Ryazan region told RIA Novosti.
The striker began his professional career under the leadership of Gennady Kudrin. In 2017, Savin became the winner of the Russian championship among youth under 16 years old.
In 2019, Savin moved to the Vityaz system, which at that time was located in Chekhov. Savin played a total of 156 games for the Russian Knights in the Youth Hockey League (MHL), scoring 29 goals and 35 assists.
The striker, who made his debut in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) in the 2021/22 season, played 13 games and scored a goal (5:2) in the match against Sibir Novosibirsk on October 18, 2021.
In the 2022/23 season, Savin defended the colors of the Ryazan-VDV team of the Higher Hockey League (VHL), Vityaz farm club. He played five matches as part of the “Paratroopers”. In the youth team of Ryazan-VDV, the hockey player played six matches, in which he scored one goal and one assist.
