Icelandic midfielder Arnor Sigurdsson has suspended his contract with CSKA Moscow and transferred to English club Blackburn. It has been reported official site teams from England.

Sigurdsson will play for Blackburn in the second division of the English Championship in the 2022/23 season.

The Icelandic footballer joined CSKA Moscow in the 2018 summer transfer window. He played until May 2021 as part of the army club. He went on loan to Italian club Venezia and also played on loan for Norrköping from Sweden, where he scored five goals in ten matches in the 2023 season.

Last year, the International Football Federation (FIFA) allowed legionnaires playing in the Russian Premier League to suspend their contracts. The May 22, 2023 amendment allows them to extend the suspension period until June 30, 2024. However, this only applies to foreigners who used this right before 7 March 2022.
