Golden Shoe 2021/2022: points system, ranking, top scorers and winners of all editions

The Golden Boot is one of the most prestigious individual awards in the history of football and is presented to the top scorer of the season in Europe, an award which has Robert Lewandowski as the current winner. Argentina’s Leo Messi is the maximum winner of the trophy, having won it six times, twice more than Cristiano Ronaldo.

In this article, Goal puts together what the standings are like in 2021/22 and we also take a look at all the winners of the Golden Shoe, which has been awarded since 1968 and in Eusebiothe Portuguese legend, to his first winner, who scored 42 goals that season.

PUNCTUATION SYSTEM

The scoring criteria for which the winners have been determined are the following:

– In the German, Spanish, English, Italian and French leagues, goals are rated at 2 points.

– In the Austrian, Belgian, Bulgarian, Czech, Portuguese, Croatian, Scottish, Greek, Dutch, Israeli, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Swiss, Turkish, Belarusian and Ukrainian leagues, each goal is worth 1.5 points.

– In Albanian, Andorran, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Bosnian, Cypriot, Danish, Slovak, Slovenian, Estonian, Finnish, Faroese, Georgian, Welsh, Hungarian, Irish, Northern Irish, Icelandic, Kazakh, Lithuanian, Luxembourg, Latvian, Macedonian , Maltese, Moldovan, Montenegrin, Romanian and Swedish each goal is worth 1 point.
