The text stipulates that in the event of a racist complaint or demonstration, the game should be stopped as long as the organizer or the party delegate deems it necessary, while racist attitudes continue.
These measures are part of the ‘Anti-Racism Protocol’, where any citizen can report racist behavior to any authority present in the stadium (firefighters, police or security guards). The complaint should be sent to the organization of the event and the authorities including the Anti-Discrimination Warning Commission and the Racial Crime and Intolerance Police Station (Decradi), the newspaper ‘O Globo’ reported.
This norm has to be proclaimed by the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro., in 15 days. Assistant Professor Josemar, who prepared the bill, stressed that it was “the first legislative chamber in the country to pass a bill to combat racism in stadiums”.
“This is a source of pride not only for my mission, but also for the Legislature of the State of Rio de Janeiro. We must once and for all eradicate racism, this cancer of Brazilian society.”
Also, the Assembly approved the delivery of the Tiradentes medal, the highest privilege of the house, to the football player of the Brazilian team.
