French football club Paris Saint-Germain on their official website announced About the departure of Argentine striker Lionel Messi at the end of the season.

“After two seasons, the adventure of Leo Messi and Paris Saint-Germain will end at the end of fiscal year 2022-23. The club extends its deepest gratitude to the seven-time Golden Ball winner, the Champions League trophy and two French titles.

On 1 June, PSG head coach Christophe Galtier said his game against Clermont will be the 35-year-old’s last game at the Parc des Princes. This was seen as confirmation of the Argentine’s departure from the club. But later the Paris club said that Galtier was not precise enough – in fact, it was about the last game of this season.

Messi’s contract with the Parisians expires at the end of June this year. He transferred to PSG in 2021. Prior to that, the striker played for Barcelona throughout his career.

The Argentinean has made 31 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 16 goals and providing 16 assists. Messi is valued at 45 million euros by Transfermarkt.
