Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva advanced to the third round of the French Open (“Roland Garros”).
In the second round, 16-year-old Andreeva defeated Dian Parry of France 6:1, 6:2. The duration of the interview was 1 hour 17 minutes.
The Russian woman will compete with the winner of the match Corey Gauff (USA) and Julia Graber (Austria) to advance to the next round at Roland Garros.
Currently ranked 143rd in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, Andreeva is the youngest tennis player since Frenchwoman Amélie Mauresmo, who managed to enter the main draw of Roland Garros in 1995.
Roland Garros will be played on clay courts in Paris from 28 May to 11 June. The total prize fund of the tournament exceeds 49.6 million Euros.
Formerly the International Tennis Federation (ITF) will not punish Novak Djokovic for supporting Kosovo Serbs during Roland Garros.
Recall that after the first match of the tournament, which took place on 29 May, Djokovic wrote into the camera lens: “Kosovo is the heart of Serbia. Stop the Violence.”
