The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced that the athletes who committed the most anti-doping rule violations in 2020 were Russian athletes.
In WADA’s final published report, official website organization, the Russians are said to have violated the rules 135 times. In terms of the number of doping cases, India (59) took the second place and the United States (57) took the third place.
In total, WADA detected 935 positive doping tests in athletes from 91 countries. Of these, 672 anti-doping rule violations were confirmed.
WADA had previously stated that the status of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) continues to be inconsistent with the World Anti-Doping Code. The Russian organization will have this status until it fulfills all the conditions for restoration.
Recall that in December 2019, the executive committee of WADA in Lausanne unanimously accepted the recommendations of the compliance committee, depriving RUSADA of its status.
