The Dimayor has established the rules to determine which team advances to the League Final in case of a tie on points.
Eight teams are divided into two groups of four home runs in the semifinals of the exciting BetPlay League 2023 of the first semester of the year, which has as protagonists great and historical figures of the country such as América de Cali, Millonarios and Atlético Nacional and Medellín fighting for the two spots in the grand final that will bring the new champion.
The games were tied, so on the final date, a closed definition is expected in each of the zones, with two or more teams contesting their chances of going through until the last minute of the day.
Before an eventual tie in points in the Quadrangulars, these are the criteria to determine which team advances in the race for the title.
How is the finalist determined in case of equality of points in the group?
The first of each group after the six dates will advance to the Grand Final which will be played in round-trip duels. So, and according to the official rules of the competition, the points occurring in this stage of the competition will be resolved as follows:
In the event of a tie in the Phase II positions (“Semi-Final Quadrangulars”) between the clubs occupying 1st and 2nd place in the Phase I standings table (“All Against All”), with the other clubs classified in Phase II (“Semi-Finals Quadrangulars”), the clubs in the 1st and 2nd positions of Phase I qualify for Phase III (Final).
In the event of a tie in the positions of Phase II (“Semi-Final Quadrangulars”) between the clubs in the standings table of Phase I (“All against All”) occupying positions 3 through 8, the following tie-breaking criteria, in the following order of precedence:
1. Bigger difference between the total number of goals for and the total number of goals against in Phase II (“semi-final home runs”) of the BetPlay DIMAYOR I 2023 League.
2. Increased number of goals scored in Phase II (“semi-final home runs”) of the BetPlay DIMAYOR I 2023 League.
3. Highest number of away goals scored in Phase II (“semi-final home runs”) of the BetPlay DIMAYOR I 2023 League.
4. Fewer goals against him as a visitor in Phase II (“semi-final home runs”) of the BetPlay DIMAYOR I League 2023.
5. Club with the fewest yellow cards in Phase II (“semi-final home runs”) of the BetPlay DIMAYOR I 2023 League.
6. Club with the fewest red cards in Phase II (“semi-final home runs”) of the BetPlay DIMAYOR I 2023 League.
7. The club with the best position in the Phase I ranking table (“All against all”).
