Viktor Maigurov, head of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU), said he would not make a public statement about the court’s decision nullifying his diploma.
According to the head of the federation, he explained the situation to the biathlon public at the meeting of the heads of regional biathlon federations last weekend in Ryazan.
“I have taken the oath to convey my attitude towards this story to our biathlon family. There were no questions from the participants of the meeting, and for me this is the main issue. I prefer not to get involved in public quarrels. If people want to share what they heard – for God’s sake, it’s their right,” Maygurov says. “Match TV”.
On May 18, the Kirovsky District Court in Yekaterinburg ruled that Maygurov’s higher education diploma, which he received in 2001 after graduating from the Ural Institute of Commerce and Law with a degree in jurisprudence, was invalidated.
The Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit for this document to be deemed invalid.
