Former actor and director of Avangard Khatsey has died at the age of 47.

Yevgeny Khatsey, the famous hockey player of Avangard, Sibir and many Russian clubs in the past, died at the age of 47. Cause of death was heart attack. It has been reported “Sport Express”.

Khatsei worked as general manager of Yugra and director of hockey operations of Avangard, and most recently as director of the academy of the Omsk club.

Throughout his career, he managed to play for Metallurg, Amur, Avangard, Sibir and Vityaz Podolsk. In 2004, as part of the Avangard, he became the champion of Russia, and the following year won the European Champions Cup.

Last season, Avangard reached the semi-finals of the Gagarin Cup, where they lost to Ak Bars Kazan.

The winner of the 2022/23 season was CSKA Moscow. On their centennial anniversary on April 29, with Kazan “Ak Bars”, in the seventh match of the final series, Muscovites won with a score of 3: 2 and won the Gagarin Cup. Among the winners, Anton Slepyshev, Vladislav Kamenev and Darren Dietz scored goals for the Kazan team, Kirill Petrov and Dmitry Voronkov.
