Baltika begins negotiations with coach Ignashevich for a new contract

First Division club “Baltika” from Kaliningrad is in talks with head coach Sergei Ignashevich to extend his contract Metaratings.ru.

According to the publication, the parties are close to signing a new agreement and are negotiating its terms.

The current specialist contract expires in the summer of 2023.

Under the leadership of Ignashevich, Baltika returned to the Russian Premier League (RPL), where he had not played since 1998.

Two rounds before the end of the season in the First Division, Baltika joins the RPL ahead of schedule in the 2023/24 season, taking second place in the standings.

On May 20, Baltika lost 0:1 to Rubin. Marat Apshatsev scored the only goal. In the second half, Oleg Ivanov missed a penalty. Thanks to this win, Kazan beat Baltika to the top of the standings. There is only one point difference between the teams.

Rubin also guaranteed a return to RPL.
