The Royal Spanish Football Federation is launching a campaign this Tuesday under the slogan. “Racists outside of football”, It aims to eliminate racist and xenophobic attitudes from football fields, and raises the awareness of fans that insults or discriminatory attitudes cannot be tolerated for any reason.
The campaign “Racists stop playing football” includes: symbol showing a hand making the “stop” sign in a colored circle that wants to represent the diversity of our country. Said symbol was born with a persistence profession to represent the RFEF and all Spanish football’s struggle for equal treatment and non-discrimination and to eliminate attitudes contrary to these values.
It will start at the Copa de la Reina
The campaign, whose conditions were determined in the 125th circular of the 2022-2023 season, will start this Tuesday. In the first of the Copa de SM la Reina semi-finals played at the Municipal Butarque Stadium, from Leganes. They will continue until the end of the season in state level competitions in the First, Second Division, Queen’s Cup, First Federation, Second Federation, Third Federation and the First and Second Division of men’s and women’s Futsal.
Specifically, among the actions created as part of this campaign will be the hanging of a canvas with the message “Racists, leave football” on the playing field before the start of the match – once the teams exit protocol. It is supported by the players of both teams and the referees.
The hashtag will be used in RFEF social networks. #RacistasFueraDelFútbol; and the National Professional Football League are requested to cooperate to ensure that the hashtag is included in the telecast of all League One and Second Division matches.
In addition, the RFEF will coordinate actions in non-professional and grassroots football, in which the Regional Federations will play an important role. Of these, players are urged to symbolize their desire to completely eradicate racist and xenophobic attitudes from football with the extended hand gesture as a “stop” symbol.
Calling all football fans
