Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev performed a victory dance after reaching the final of the tournament held in Rome (Italy).

On Saturday, in the Russian semi-final match, he outstripped Greek representative Stefanos Tsitsipas with scores of 7:5 and 7:5. The match, which was interrupted for more than four hours due to rain in the final of the first set, became 6 hours and 5 minutes in total, including the breaks.

Daniil Medvedev completed two aces during the match, made two double mistakes and converted four break points (100%).

On the way to the final, in addition to Tsitsipas, Rus defeated Emil Ruusuvuori (Finland), Bernabé Zapata-Miralles (Spain), Alexander Zverev (Germany) and Yannick Hanfman (Germany).

In the final of the Masters series tournament, Daniil Medvedev will face Danish tennis player Holger Rune, the world’s seventh racket. The match will be played on May 21.

In the Professional Tennis Players Association (ATP) rankings, Daniil Medvedev continues to take third place, taking Norway’s Kasper Ruud from there. Serbian Novak Djokovic remains in the lead. In second place is Spanish Carlos Alcaraz.
