Russian weightlifters refused to sign a statement to participate in the International Weightlifting Federation’s (IWF) Grand Prix in Cuba. This has been reported official website of the organization.

Thus, weightlifters with Russian passports and related personnel lost the opportunity to participate in the IWF tournament, which will be held in Cuba, ”says the IWF official website.
The IWF Grand Prix will be held in Havana from 8 to 18 June. The tournament is a qualifier for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. It is worth noting that Belarusian representatives have applied and will participate in the tournament as neutral athletes.
The IWF had previously allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions with neutral status.
