The National Hockey League (NHL) Buffalo Sabers have signed a contract with Russian defender Nikita Novikov. This was reported by the team’s press service.
The agreement with the hockey player is for three years. Novikov, who played for Dynamo Moscow in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) last season, was selected by Buffalo with the 188th number in the 2021 auditions.
He scored two goals and three assists in 62 KHL regular season games in the season ending, and failed to score in six playoff games.

Two Russians were on the list: New York Rangers forward Artemy Panarin and Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov.
Panarin’s Rangers were eliminated in the first round by the New Jersey Devils. At the same stage “Minnesota” Kaprizov – from “Dallas Stars”.
