Mexican boxer Saul Alvarez is ready to circumvent the World Boxing Council’s (WBC) ban to play a rematch with Russian Dmitry Bivol and compete in a different weight category.

Earlier, the WBC announced that it would not allow the super middleweight fight between Alvarez and Bivol.
Bivol and Canelo met on May 7, 2022. Then the victory remained with the Russian, for him this was the fourth defense of the title.
On November 6, Bivol defeated representative Gilberto Ramirez for the WBA light heavyweight title. The fight lasted for 12 rounds and ended with Bivol’s unanimous victory. For Bivol, this title defense was his tenth.
Bivol remains undefeated with 21 wins (11 by knockout) in 21 fights in his career.
