The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) penalized 203 Russian athletes after rechecking the data of the Moscow laboratory (LIMS). This was reported by the press service of the organization.

In addition, 182 cases are under investigation. 73 athletes were charged.

“The continued success of Operation LIMS is a testament to the significant work done by the agency’s legal business as well as the intelligence and investigation departments.

I would also like to thank the International Federations and other Anti-Doping Organizations for diligently following the evidence provided by WADA and continuing to take action when necessary.

“WADA is contacting all relevant authorities involved in the investigation to ensure justice for athletes worldwide,” said Witold Banka, WADA president. TASS.

LIMS recorded activities related to doping test results of athletes for the period from 2012 to 2015. In January 2019, the data was transferred to WADA, the organization’s experts concluded that it had been manipulated to hide doping violations.

The Russian side insisted on not getting involved, which led to legal action. The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) sided with WADA, but only partially participated in the sanctions imposed by the anti-doping agency on Russian sports, in effect until December 2022.

Former American journalist Philip Hersh accused figure skater Kamila Valieva remained indifferent to the doping case.
