Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed Manchester United could have signed Erling Haaland for just $5 million in 2018.
The former Manchester United manager revealed that he recommended Haaland’s name six months before he took over at the club, but they refused to listen. The Norwegian striker was reportedly available for just $5 million, but the club refused to sign him at the time.
To talk with the sunSolskjaer said: “I called United about six months before I took over and told them I had this striker they needed but they wouldn’t listen. I asked for £4 million for Haaland but they didn’t sign him. “
Haaland eventually joined Red Bull Salzburg and then moved on to Borussia Dortmund before moving on to the Red Devils’ city rivals Manchester City in the summer. He has broken the Premier League record for most goals in a season and currently has 51 goals in 47 appearances for the Cityzens in all competitions.
