Russian judo player Arman Adamyan was the winner of the World Judo Championship held in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
In the final match of the 100 kg weight class, Adamyan defeated the two-time Olympic champion Lukasz Krpalek from the Czech Republic.
He became the Russian world champion thanks to the third warning his opponent received in the decisive duel, leading to Adamyan’s automatic victory.
This is the first medal won by Russian judoka at the World Championships in Doha.
Recall that the International Judo Federation (IJF) at the end of April allows athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in international competitions in neutral status. 17 Russian judokas were allowed to compete in neutral status at the World Championships. All passed a background check on supporting the NWO.
At a meeting of the executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on March 28, it was recommended that the Russians be allowed to have a neutral status, if the athletes are not actively engaged in supporting hostilities. Athletes representing law enforcement and armed forces will not be allowed to compete.
