The Executive Board of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) postponed the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions until July. In this respect DEA News Vasily Titov, President of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation (FSGR), said:

“Right now the FIG Executive Committee is being formed. They postponed the decision on the admission of Russian athletes to July, ”Titov said.

Recall that on February 28, 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) made an appeal to sports federations and recommended that domestic and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.

On March 4, 2022, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) decided to ban Russians and Belarusians from participating in competitions under its auspices from March 7 due to the situation in Ukraine.

This year, the IOC recommended that the Russians be allowed to remain neutral if the athletes do not actively support the war. Athletes representing law enforcement and armed forces will not be allowed to compete.
