Price of Real Madrid and Barça already above 4,000 million euros, Atleti is growing and Valencia is sinking
The LaLiga clubs are skyrocketing in their list. In concrete terms, Real Madrid and Barça already exceed 4,000 million euros, within an overall progress of Spanish teams rising to 32% year-on-year. The market price of the teams is at a maximum, according to the report ‘LaLiga Stock Market 2023’. Atlético is growing, just like Sevilla, Betis, Real Sociedad or Villarreal. Athletics stagnates and Valencia falls.
The combined market price of the LaLiga Santander and SmartBank teams is up 32% year-on-yearrising to 13,770.2 million in 2023. This is according to the third edition of the report of ‘2Playbook’ and ‘4-Football’. The reasons for the growth are due to the good prospects for economic recovery and the results of the first investments through the ‘LaLiga Impulso’ project.
The podium: Madrid, Barça and Atleti
At the top are Madrid, Barça and Atlético de Madrid. Whites are up 42% year-on-year and, pending the benefits of the investment in the stadium, have already reached a valuation of 4,807 million euros. For its part, FC Barcelona rises by 46% to 4.693 million, waiting for the next course in economic affairs. As for Atlético de Madrid, the mattress club increases its price by up to 12% to 1,191 million euros, recovering the value lost due to the impact of the pandemic.
Currently, as “2 Playbook” reports, the average market price in Primera is already 174.5 million euros, compared to 158.1 million in 2021. In the case of Segunda, prices have also increased, from 25.8 million euros in 2021 to 29 million euros in 2023.
The progressive fall of Valencia CF
The value improvement at First Division clubs is widespread, but not all mountains are oregano. There are notable exceptions. The value of Valencia CF decreases by 34%, to 280 million euros, after two years in which his periodic presence in European competitions and his transfer activity increased his price. The club of which Peter Lim is the largest shareholder is clearly in decline. Also Athletic Club, which is declining due to that absence from Europe and the consumption of most of the reserves built up before the pandemic.
Seville and Betis, on the rise
Fourth place in the price ranking would go to Sevilla FC, which increases its value to 441 million euros with an interesting increase. A slipstream emerges, fifth-placed Real Betis, with an estimate of 430.9 million, according to the aforementioned report. Real Sociedad and Villarreal also manage to raise their price, although they do not reach the 300 “kilo”. For their part, Valladolid, Getafe, Girona, Rayo and Almería occupy the last places in the First Division in terms of prizes. They do not exceed 80 million euros.
