Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin appreciated the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) final requirement to the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
“Russian legislation is fully compliant with the International Convention Against Doping in Sport, and all Russian anti-doping rules are fully compliant with the WADA code. “Such requests by WADA to change federal laws are direct interventions in the legislative process and become universal, which is unacceptable to the agency,” Matytsina said. WADA stated that RUSADA’s status continues to be inconsistent with the World Anti-Doping Code. The Russian organization will have this status until it fulfills all the conditions for restoration.
Recall that at the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) made a call to international sports federations and recommended that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.
