Mexican goalkeeper Antonio Carbajal, the first player to play in five World Cups, has died at the age of 93. Web site International Football Federation (FIFA).

Carbajal played in the 1950, 1954, 1958, 1962 and 1966 World Cups. Only in 1998, German Lothar Matthäus repeated Carbajal’s record of back-to-back world championships.

As part of the Mexican “Leon”, Carbajal became the two-time champion of the country, as well as the owner of the Country Cup.

Former British athlete Steve Shanks dead on his way home after participating in the famous London Marathon.

“Steve is 45 years old and a very experienced runner who has run many marathons. He finished Sunday with a result of 2 hours 53 minutes 26 seconds.
