American fighter Colby Covington says he knows how to beat the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion at lightweight Islam Makhachev. Covington quotes Low Kick MMA.

“I coached Adriano Martins before his fight with Mahachev. So I kept telling him to test Islam with the right hook. I said he didn’t catch this blow and he wasn’t ready for it. As a result, Adriano got into the octagon and overthrew Makhachev. Islam, like me is left-handed and fights badly with other left-handers,” Covington said.

Covington has entered the octagon 20 times and has 17 wins.

On February 12, Makhachev defeated Alexander Volkanovski by unanimous decision after five rounds at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia. This victory for the Russian took the 24th place in his professional career with a loss.

Formerly Colby Covington commented Islam Makhachev’s plans to move into heavyweight.
