Immunologist Irina Yartseva expressed confidence that the life of 2006 ice dancing Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov is no longer in danger.

“His life is definitely not in danger, but it will be difficult for him to adapt to life psychologically and that’s all, his condition is stable. In this sense, everything is fine, ”Yartseva said in an interview. News.ru.

On May 8 for the first time since January, the skater posted a message on a social network thanking her fans, relatives and friends, as well as doctors for helping her recover.

It became known on January 10 that Roman Kostomarov was hospitalized. He was taken to the intensive care unit with pneumonia and was in critical condition due to the ventilator.

The athlete was then transferred to a hospital in Kommunarka, where he was affiliated with ECMO. The media wrote that Kostomarov underwent several operations to amputate his limbs due to the consequences of the disease.

Katarina Gerboldt, previously the bronze medalist of the Russian Championship in single skating and also known for her performances with Alexander Enbert, commented European champion Alena Kostornaya’s former mentor Eteri Tutberidze’s words on her coaching methods.
