Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov responded to UFC President Dana White’s words that everyone is afraid to fight the MMA star’s cousin, Umar.
“Dana White says that no one wants to risk fighting with Umar Nurmagomedov. We once faced the same situation as Islam Makhachev. Then you know what happened,” Khabib wrote on the social network.
Mahachev defeated Brazilian Charles Oliveira in October 2022 and became the UFC lightweight champion.
Umar Nurmagomedov previously turned to the leadership of the UFC with a request on his page on social networks to organize a fight with Georgian Merab Dvalishvili.
“Offer me the main fight. I agree to oppose Merab. Now he has an injury and I wish him a speedy recovery, but I look forward to the opportunity to share the same cage with him in June or July,” Nurmagomedov wrote.
On March 12, Dvalishvili defeated Petr Yan at UFC Fight Night 221.
Umar Nurmagomedov made his last fight in the UFC in January by knocking out Brazilian Raoni Barcelos.
Earlier, Russian blogger and ambassador of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khasbulla Magomedov on her page on social networks commented Arrest in Dagestan for violating traffic rules.
