The 2023 Champions League final will be held in the Istanbul Ataturk Olympic Stadium by decision of UEFA. Every year, the highest European football body meets in various committees and meetings where they debate and decide on European competitions.

At the time, UEFA determined that the 2020 Champions League final should be held in Istanbul, but it ultimately could not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was postponed for a season, but again due to COVID, the final in Istanbul in 2021 could not be played. It looks like it may finally be running this season.
