England demands arrest of main suspect in attack on basketball player Shved

Investigative Committee requests the arrest of Yusuf Mirashurov, accused of causing grievous bodily harm to CSKA basketball player Alexei Shved TASS.

“The court took materials from the petition of the investigating authorities to choose a measure of restraint in the form of detention against Yusuf Mirashurov, who was accused of committing a crime in accordance with paragraph “e” of Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causes grievous bodily harm from hooligan motives), part 2 of Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism by a group of people),” the press service of the Presnensky District Court told the agency.

On May 1, Shved was resting with his wife and friends in one of the restaurants in the center of Moscow. Arguing with a group of men on the way out, the basketball player was attacked and suffered a serious head injury as a result.

Three suspects in the case of the attack on athletes Ramzin Amiraslanov, Gleb Pisarev and Knyaz Amiraslanov were detained until July 2, with a court decision.

On 5 May, it was learned that the main suspect, Yusuf, who was the driver of one of the Amiraslanov brothers, was taken into custody. He was found at Zhukovsky airport while trying to leave Russia.
