Senator Elizaveta Koloskova, captain of the sports club and the country’s national cheerleading team, talked about the main differences in the organization of competitions in Russia and Europe, in an interview with a socialbites.ca correspondent.

“The first is the level of competitors. You look at people like yourself who have two arms and two legs, and you know that you can definitely make an element better, or rather, stronger than they, and you think, “Why am I worse?”

Competition is a huge impetus for improvement for next season. You look ahead, you want to be better, you try to catch up, we are still a country that is catching up in cheerleading. But you’re getting high because you’re fighting the strongest.

Second is the atmosphere. There is the Russian Championship, but when you go to another country in the national team, you become one, you unite, you support each other, you feel the support of the whole country, different people start to write to you and offer their good wishes. If it’s good luck, it’s not the case in local competitions because you compete with other teams.

The third is organization. In Europe, the level of love for cheerleading is higher and the attitude towards it is much better: the halls are always full of fans, they actively support their own fans. At our Russian competitions, the stands are filled only for competitions for children and teenagers, only their friends, mothers and fathers go to see adults, that is, very few spectators. It is quite sad, especially when you visit the European Championship, ”the athlete said.
