Elizaveta Koloskova, captain of the “Senator” sports club and the Russian cheerleading team, in an interview with a socialbites.ca correspondent, expressed her feelings after the news of the removal of the national team from international competitions.

According to him, there was no hope of performing in the continental championship in 2022 after Russian teams began to abolish other international sports federations.

“Everything became clear when the first penalties of Russian teams in other sports began.

While riding the subway, I saw a letter from the International Cheerleading Federation (ICU) about the suspension of the Russian and Belarusian teams. I understand that crying in front of people is ugly, you have to hold on but I can’t. Everything was boiling inside me, tears were starting to roll down my face, it was hard to calm down. You prepared yourself for it, you expected it, but it’s still terrible.

We had been preparing for continental competitions for three years and our dream was shattered. I can’t imagine how the Olympians are feeling now – the selection for the Games in Paris will start soon, most people can’t compete with them. They went to this all their lives. I can only understand them a little, not completely, ”said the athlete.
