Russian hockey player recognized as first star of second round match of NHL playoffs

The first leg of the second round of the Stanley Cup between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Edmonton Oilers has come to an end. The match, which was held at the “T-Mobile Arena” stadium in Las Vegas, ended with a 6:4 score of 6:4 by the home team.

Russian striker “Vegas” Ivan Barbashev was recognized as the first star of the match. The 27-year-old striker scored two goals at his own expense.

Vegas took a 1-0 lead in the series. The next meeting will be on May 8. Barbashev’s team eliminated the Winnipeg Jets in the first round.

The current Stanley Cup winners, Colorado Avalanche, had previously left the tournament in the 1/8 stage and lost 4:3 to Seattle Craken in the series. In last year’s final, Colorado hockey players defeated Tampa Bay Lightning.
