Chinese tennis player Zhang Zhizhen shared his views on the match to be played with Russian representative Aslan Karatsev at the Masters tournament held in Madrid.

“Let me tell you a secret – we had a training set and I lost 0:6. He is very aggressive. So again – you just have to give your best. All opponents are very strong,” Zhizhen said in a post-match interview.

Karatsev and Zhizhen will play the quarterfinals for the first time in their history at the Masters series tournament. The match between the opponents will be played on May 4.

In the previous round, the Russian had defeated compatriot Daniil Medvedev with the scores of 7:6, 6:4. The Chinese athlete was stronger than the American Taylor Fritz 3:6, 7:6, 7:6.

In addition to Karatsev, another Russian remained at the tournament in Madrid – Karen Khachanov. In the quarterfinals, he will face Carlos Alcaraz, who is second in the world ranking.

Aslan Karatsev is in 121st place, Karen Khachanov is in 12th place. The best of Russians is still Daniil Medvedev (3rd).
