Tretyak, head of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, exposed to Australian sanctions

Vladislav Tretyak, president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR), and Alexander Zhukov, former head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), are included in the Australian sanctions list. This was reported on the country’s government website.

The updated sanctions list includes 76 deputies of the Russian State Duma, as well as a number of key ministers of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

To date, Australia has imposed sanctions on more than 800 Russian and Belarusian citizens.

Omsk and Novosibirsk were supposed to host the 2023 Junior World Championships, and St. Petersburg was supposed to become the capital of the adult world championship in May 2023. It should be noted that modern hockey fields are being built in all three cities where these tournaments are planned.

Russia last hosted the World Junior Championships in 2013.
