“We respect this decision. It should also be emphasized that naturally we want him to stay in the national team. We were confident that we could meet the potential requirements of Johannes next season,” said Bjerwig.
Klebo is a five-time Olympic champion, nine-time world champion, four-time World Cup winner, three-time Tour de Ski winner. The Norwegian athlete holds the record for the most men’s World Cup wins in ski history.
