Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Frank Shamrock announced on social media his decision to donate his brain to chronic traumatic encephalopathy research.

“As an athlete and lifelong brain health advocate, I am happy to announce that I will be donating my brain to the Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF). As someone who has personally experienced the effects of concussions, I know the importance of taking proactive steps to protect the brain.

By donating my brain to the CLF, I hope to contribute to their research and help improve our understanding of brain health,” the 50-year-old American wrote.

Shamrock has 23 wins and 10 losses in his career.
