Former Manchester United and Russian national team player Andrey Kanchelskis spoke about the position Chelsea are in following the departure of Russian owner Roman Abramovich.
If you remember, it was announced in March 2022 that Britain placed Roman Abramovich on the sanctions list, and the businessman’s assets in the country were frozen. Then the leadership of the English Premier League (EPL) removed the businessman from the post of president of the football club, in May he sold Chelsea to American Todd Bowley.
“After the departure of Roman Abramovich, Chelsea went from being one of the best clubs in the Premier League to being ridiculed. Under Abramovich, the Londoners changed and regularly won championships, won the Champions League and reached the finals.
Solidarity with the fans: They are right in everything. I wish them good luck and one day they will have a leader like Abramovich,” Kanchelskis quotes RT.
Abramovich bought Chelsea for £140m in 2003. Since then, the London club has won the Premier League five times, the Champions League and Europa League twice, the FA Cup five times and the English League Cup three times.
Chelsea forward Didier Drogba criticized Transfer policy under the club’s new owner.
