Odion Ighalo imitated a famous Lionel Messi celebration after he scored against Al-Nassr for Al-Hilal as Cristiano Ronaldo looked on.
The Nigerian striker scored twice from penalties to lead Al-Hilal to a 2-0 Riyadh derby victory over Al-Nassr on Tuesday night. Ighalo sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and scored from twelve paces for his second goal, having opened the game before half-time.
After scoring the second, he imitated one of Lionel Messi’s most famous celebrations with Argentina, kneeling on the ground and raising both arms to the sky.
It was a bad day in the office for Ronaldo as not only did he lose his first derby to Riyadh, but he was greeted from the start by the rival crowd with deafening chants of Messi’s name to annoy him.
He was frustrated throughout the match and was at the center of the evening’s controversy when referee Michael Oliver booked him for throwing Gustavo Cuéllar to the ground with a headlock. Moreover, when he was on his way to the tunnel after the match, he appeared to be making an obscene gesture towards the Al-Hilal fans.
