Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov won the second round of the 500 category tournament organized by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in Barcelona.
The 11th racket of the world, in its first match in the capital of Catalonia, defeated Chilean representative Nicholas Jarri, who is 51st in the ATP ranking, with the scores of 6:4, 6:4.
The interview lasted 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Khachanov made two passes, made a double mistake and also converted three out of eight break points. Jarry wrote four aces, didn’t make a single double mistake, and converted one of four possible break points.
Khachanov’s opponent in the next round will be the winner of the match between Englishman Daniel Evan and Italian Matteo Arnaldi.
At the previous Masters tournament, which was held in Monte Carlo last week, Khachanov finished the fight in the quarterfinals, losing 6:7, 2:6 to compatriot Andrei Rublev.
