Former Barcelona and Brazilian football player Dani Alves has changed his statement for the fifth time in an ongoing sexual assault lawsuit, admitting to lying in a previous statement. It has been reported World Deportivo.
According to the Spanish publication, on April 17, the Brazilian appeared before a judge in Barcelona to change his version of events. The 39-year-old athlete had previously denied everything to protect his relationship with his wife, Joana Sanz, and eventually broke up with him.
She later admitted to having oral sex and now admits to having vaginal sex, though she claims it was consensual.
Let’s remember, the woman had previously applied to the police and stated that Alves had raped her in one of the nightclubs of Barcelona on 30 December. The football player was detained with the fear that he would leave Spain to avoid punishment.
Alves became the champion of France, Spain, Italy and also won the national cups of these countries. As part of the Brazilian national team, he twice won the Confederations Cup and the America’s Cup, and also became the winner of the Olympic Games and the World Junior Championships.
