Named the best Russian hockey player for usefulness in the NHL season

National Hockey League (NHL) forward club “Colorado Avalanche” Valery Nichushkin became the best Russian player of the season in terms of usefulness. This was reported on the NHL’s official website.

The 28-year-old striker made 53 appearances in the regular season and earned +15 points overall. Second place is St. Louis Blues forward Pavel Buchnevich (+14) received. The third was shared by New York Islanders’ Alexander Romanov and Tampa Bay Lightning’s Mikhail Sergachev (both +13).

The worst Russian in this indicator was San Jose Sharks striker Alexander Barabanov (-30).

It was previously reported in San Jose signed Rookie contract with Russian defender Artem Guryev. The agreement with the hockey player is designed for three seasons. Details of the contract were not disclosed.

The 19-year-old Russian player has been playing in North America since the 2018/19 season. He was selected 135th overall by San Jose in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
