Mexico will face Haiti, Honduras and Qatar in the group stage of the 2023 Gold Cup
The new edition of the golden cupa tournament in which 16 countries corresponding to Concacaf participate with the firm intention of demonstrating supremacy in this geographical area and thereby obtaining a ticket to the next Confederations Cup.
For this year, the first placed are the first places of the three divisions participating in the Concacaf Nations League: Mexico, Canada and the United States. Since the tournament’s inception in 1991, El Tri has been the top winner with eight titles, followed by the United States with seven championships and is also the current champion; Canada has only managed to lift the trophy once.
Qatar, host of the last World Cup, will be the special guest to complete the list of participating teams, along with the three teams that win the playoffs of Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Curaçao, French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, Guadeloupe , Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Grenada, Puerto Rico and Saint Martin.

Pot 1: Top ranked teams in the FIFA ranking
- United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and Canada
Pot 2: Second best placed teams in the ranking
- Panama, Haiti, Jamaica and Guatemala
Pot 3: Last best placed teams in Concacaf
- Honduras, El Salvador, Cuba and Nicaragua
Pot 4: Qatar (host team) and the play-off winning teams
