At the opening ceremony of the European Weightlifting Championship held in Yerevan, an Armenian supporter snatched the Azerbaijani flag from the flag bearer and burned it during the parade of the flags of the participating countries. It has been reported news.am.
The ceremony took place on April 14. When the Azerbaijani flag was carried at the event, the audience started whistling. One of the fans ran to the stage, grabbed the Azerbaijani flag from the girl’s hand, set it on fire and took it out of the hall. Armenian supporters also saluted the Turkish flag by whistling.
The European Men’s and Women’s Weightlifting Championships will be held from April 15-23.
