Russian tennis player Rublev reaches the semi-finals of the Monte Carlo tournament

Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev has advanced to the semi-finals at the Monte Carlo clay tournament of the Masters series, whose prize fund exceeds 5,779m euros.

In the quarterfinals, the Russian was stronger than the German Jan-Lennard Struff. The match lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes and ended with a score of 6:1, 7:6 (7:5).

Rublev’s next opponent in the tournament will be the winner of Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) – Taylor Fritz (USA).

The clay tournament of the Masters series takes place from April 9-16. The current winner is Tsitsipas.

Former German tennis player Alexander Zverev accused Daniil Medvedev is in an unfair game after losing to Russia in the 1/8th match of the tournament in Monte Carlo.

It is worth noting that this is Medvedev’s first win on dirt ground in the history of all his matches against Zverev. Now the total score is 8:6 in favor of the Russian.

In the quarterfinals, Medvedev will play Denmark’s Holger Rune. Currently, the 27-year-old Russian is in fifth place (5150 points) in the ranking of the Professional Tennis Players Association.
